Portable Flow Meter Installation Request

To request the installation of a portable flow meter(s) please fill out the form below. If you have specific questions, please contact Jeremy McIntyre at jmcintyre@mmsd.com. Here are a few important things to keep in mind when selecting a site:

Avoid Conditions that limit safe access:

Missing or damaged manhole ladder rungs.
Poor atmospheric conditions.
Traffic Safety - busy intersections, etc.
Accessibility - no forests, dense shrubbery, marshes, etc.
Private property - no backyards.

Avoid Conditions that adversely affect data quality:

Pipe direction change - avoid large bends and/or 90 degree turns.
Drops or significant slope changes.
Incoming connections.
Debris in line - gravel, silt, etc.
Tee connections - places where lines intersect inhibit accurate flow measurement.
Low flow - At least 1" is required to measure velocity.
