OVERFLOW REDUCTION WORK IN PROPOSED 2019 MMSD BUDGETS

STAFF ALSO REQUESTING $783.4 MILLION FOR PROJECTS OVER THE NEXT SIX YEARS

While MMSD’s proposed 2019 Long-Range Financing Plan is $1.4 billion (including debt service), the great majority of capital expenditures over the next six years include rehabilitation, replacement or improvement of existing District facilities and infrastructure. 

SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS

  • Continued funding for $30 million Private Property Inflow and Infiltration Program to fix cracked pipes, install sump pumps, and reduce the amount of groundwater that enters sanitary sewer systems, significantly increasing the risk of basement backups and sewer overflows. READ MORE

  • South Shore – 34 Projects (Not including operation & maintenance) -- $102.5M

REGIONAL SEWERS – SIX YEAR PLAN

  • C04010 – Mill/Green Bay/Green Tree MIS Relief – Design starts in 2019, $43.6M project
  • C05041 – Basin H MIS Remediation and Rehabilitation – Design ongoing, $4.3M project
  • C05051 – Edgewood MIS Extension – Preliminary Engineering ongoing, $8M project
  • C05053 – River Road MIS and Glendale Sewer – Design starts 2019, $38.7M project
  • I06001 – NS12 Collector System Improvements – Design starts in 2019, $16M project

FLOOD MANAGEMENT – SIX YEAR PLAN

  • W40002 – Kinnickinnic River – Pulaski Park – Construction starting, $5.9M project.
  • W40012 – Kinnickinnic River – 6th to 16th – Design starts 2019, $29.9M project.
  • W20028 – Western Milwaukee Phase 2B – Construction starting third quarter 2019, $23M project. 
  • W45002 – Wilson Park Creek – Design starting, $22.8M project.
