The sewer replacement on North Riverboat Road under the Humboldt Bridge has successfully been installed, restoring the system to full capacity. North Riverboat Road and the access ramp from Humboldt to Riverboat Road are expected to be open for the Thanksgiving holiday. The final phase of the project will begin Monday, November 29, 2021, and new traffic patterns will be in effect. As part of the final restoration efforts, the access ramp from Humboldt to Riverboat Road will be closed for approximately 2 to 4 days starting on Monday, November 29, 2021.
A sinkhole developed under the Humboldt Avenue bridge due to a failed combined sewer structure. The structure, built in 1900, was likely damaged by heavy rainfall in August.
MMSD has constructed a new, permanent concrete pipe that has restored the system back to full capacity. The final construction phase will begin on November 29, 2021. A new traffic pattern will be in effect during this final phase. The access ramp from Humboldt to Riverboat Road will be closed for approximately 2 to 4 days starting on Monday, November 29, 2021. Please see the map for the new traffic pattern.
